Mohamad Rachid was born and raised in Damascus, Syria. He has a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and M.A. in Political Science, both from the University of Colorado. He taught courses on Islam and the Middle East at the University of Colorado, USA, and Simon Fraser University and University of British Columbia, Canada. His interests include US foreign relations, Syrian politics, Middle East and Islamic politics, Muslims in North America, and Islamist thought.
